Description

Cradle of humankind

Uncover facts, mysteries, myths and legends about an ancient site that contains hominid fossils older than 3.1 million years. We take you to one of the deepest caves in the west which is at least an hour and a half from Joburg city there we find the oldest fossils in the world, says recent discovery - you also get to learn about early dinosaurs that roamed around Southern Africa more than two billion years ago.

We take you through the artistic yet serious and significant lifetime of early men. Get to understand the different methodologies they used to maintain everyday life, such as transforming stones into the most deadly tools for hunting and kitchen tools for food. This is a journey to a past that made present day life possible.

Embedded in the rocks and stones are drawings that capture the early life of stone age people, their activities and events. At the end of the cave tour, you will meet the oldest fossil in the world at one of the exhibition spaces where she lies.
